The biggest thrill here is the red dune drive through Lahbab, where a 4WD Land Cruiser climbs and slides across the sand before stopping for sunset photographs. You also get a camel ride, sandboarding, a barbecue buffet, and stage shows, all in one afternoon and evening.

I like the easy hotel pickup and drop-off, with no need to find a desert meeting point. I also like the mix of active and relaxed moments: dune bashing and sandboarding first, then coffee, dinner, music, and stargazing at camp. The main drawback is that the best seating near the entertainment costs extra, and optional quad bikes and dune buggies can quickly raise the $49 price.
